Minors and Certificates

Expand Your Degree with Global Skills

No matter your major, a minor or certificate from the School of Modern Languages gives you tools to connect across cultures, boost your resume, and explore new ways of thinking—here and around the world.

Our minors and certificates help students enhance their global perspectives and communication skills. These programs are designed to complement both STEM and liberal arts majors by fostering greater cultural understanding and preparing students to work effectively across languages and cultures.

Minors

Minors require 15 credit hours and appear on a student’s official transcript. They are a strong option for students seeking to deepen their academic focus and broaden their global competencies.

Certificates

Certificates require 12 credit hours and are well suited for students who want to build intercultural and linguistic skills but have limited room for electives. Certificates do not appear on transcripts, but students receive a digital certificate from the School at the end of each academic year.
