Overview

Sophie Landrieux  Kartochian is a Lecturer of French at Georgia Tech passionate about language advocacy and multidisciplinarity. She specializes in teaching Languages for Specific Purposes (French for Business, French for Professional Communication, French for International Affairs...).

She holds a PhD in Business Administration from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a dual degree in Economics and Business from the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay.

Before joining the School of Modern Languages of Georgia Tech, she has held various academic positions, including Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and French Lecturer for International Business at Georgia State University. She has also worked at Atlanta International School and in the field of continuing education.

Sophie Landrieux Kartochian’s areas of expertise include French for Business, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. She has completed research projects about women in management, career development, and negotiation. She currently focuses her work on Intercultural Management and French for Specific Purposes.

She has written or co-written handbooks in Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Theories and has published several articles in academic journals. She regularly presents at conferences or participates in panels.

Her teaching encompasses classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. An enthusiastic educator, she has received awards for her teaching, including the Student Recognition of Excellence in Teaching (Spring 2022 CIOS Honor Roll and Fall 2022 CIOS Honor Roll) and numerous Thank a Teacher program awards.
