| Biography: | Cassidy Whittle Chreene, M.S. in Global Media and Cultures in German, defended her project, "Visual Representations of Refugees in German Media 2010-2020." Cassidy is creating a bilingual website analyzing 20 photographs across major German news organizations. The project will show the need for a standard of practice with regards to content creation and photograph selection on this issue. Cassidy says, "I hope that this research will encourage the use of more original and first-person content in news reporting, and change the conversation among journalists and photographers on the use of photographs from databases." | |
