Overview

Tia Williams is an Academic Program Manager I in the School of Modern Languages at Georgia Institute of Technology. With over 20 years of experience in the University System of Georgia, including roles at both Georgia State University and Georgia Tech, she brings deep expertise in academic operations, program management, and student services.

In her current role, Tia oversees key aspects of undergraduate program operations, including academic advising, curriculum and degree audit support, and the management of student records and processes. She is also responsible for the classroom scheduling of courses for the department, working closely with faculty, department leadership, and the Registrar’s Office to coordinate instructional space, optimize course offerings, and ensure alignment with institutional scheduling policies. 

Prior to joining the School of Modern Languages, Tia served as Academic Program Coordinator I in Georgia Tech’s School of Materials Science and Engineering, where she managed departmental operations and supported academic initiatives. At Georgia State University, she held multiple roles across the College of Arts and Sciences, including scheduler and academic coordinator for the Departments of Psychology and Geosciences. In these positions, she led course scheduling operations, supported advising functions, coordinated events, and managed departmental budgets and administrative processes.

Tia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration from Clayton State University. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
