Masters Student - MS-GMC (Spanish)
Liz Soos graduated with a B.S. in Computational Media with concentrations in People and Interactive Design / Experimental Media in the spring of 2020. She previously worked in software and strategy positions for a satellite company and at Stanley Black & Decker. Using experience from tech fields and a love for the creative arts, she enjoys facilitating cross-cultural communication and interdisciplinary projects. She enjoyed the privilege of participating in a student exchange at the IT University of Copenhagen (København) in Denmark during her undergraduate studies. Liz is a heritage Spanish speaker and comes from a mixed-family background. Growing up experiencing different cultures adjusting and accommodating each other, she plans to further her studies researching the role culture lends to resisting and embracing practices of sustainability. Liz is currently working as an Assistant Coordinator at the Atlanta Global Studies Center where she gets to work with an incredible team that embraces diversity and global issues. She also serves as the MS-GMC representative on the Graduate Student Senate and is open to discussing and helping push forward initiatives focused on improving mental health and sustainability for the GT community.
Liz is looking forward to completing her final project and combining sustainability, cross-cultural communication, indigenous community knowledge sharing practices, and mental health to better serve local communities.
