Yeu-Ann has a BS in Biology and BA in East Asian Studies from Emory University. She worked in Okinawa, Japan for three years on the JET Program. She has strong interests in East Asian arts, cultures, and languages. While abroad she discovered how much she enjoyed language acquisition and cross-cultural communication in Chinese and Japanese. She hopes to improve and hone these two languages to be able to use professionally for future careers.
Currently a GRA for the Department of Housing and Residence Life, she is looking to create a resource for faculty and staff to better serve the needs of international students living in on-campus housing.
For Fall 2020, her research projects include: translating contemporary Japanese poems into English and translating a Japanese comic while analyzing the gender roles within Japanese society.
