Academic Credit (College Students or Former College Students)
All current GT students can enroll in our online courses through OSCAR without any application and will receive the same academic credit obtained by taking any other language courses at GT. If you are a non-Georgia Tech college student (or a college graduate) seeking academic credit for online Chinese, Japanese or Russian courses, you can go to Online Application to get started.
For the cost of the program, please see the Frequently Asked Questions page. Questions about Online Chinese, Japanese and Russian can be directed to Dr. Masato Kikuchi. Questions about Online Spanish can be directed to Dr. David Shook.
Non-Academic Credit (Professionals or High School Students)
If you are currently a college student (not a GT student) or graduated from a college/university in the past, you can enroll through Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) if spaces are available. On the GTPE homepage, enter a search key like "Chinese" or "Japanese" or "Russian" to find out the course availability. No official academic credits can be obtained if you enroll in our online courses through GTPE.
High School Students
Aspiring high school students may also enroll through Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) with instructor's permission if spaces are available. High school students cannot earn academic credit from Georgia Tech through this program. However, if you successfully complete the course, GTPE can send a letter stating your grade for the course (not an official transcript) to your high school upon request.
- Transient or Special Students who seek academic credit must apply by the following dates:
- Summer Semester: April 1st
- Fall Semester: July 1st
- Spring Semester: December 1st
- Non-academic credit students must apply directly to Georgia Tech Professional Education by 5:00pm on Wednesday of the first week of the semester.
